Reporting production scrap in addition to BOM.

What are my options for reporting scrap transactions against production orders.  I have production orders that I want to report scrap against.  This would be incremental scrap as a result of processing.  How can I report a quantity of FG scrapped against a production order?  I know if I under produce the difference goes to scrap.  What if I ran 50 more that the order quantity but they were scrapped for whatever reason.  How can I report this against a production order?

Thanks,

John

    Re: Reporting production scrap in addition to BOM.

    In Ax 2009 you can report scrap using on of the following:

    BOM scrap:Scrap is defined as the expected amount of extra material left over after the

    manufacturing of a BOM component. Here scrap can be either constant value that is only calculated one time or variable as a % value calculated per BOM line. Example for every 100 units, there are 2 units for testing or are wasted --> constant scrap is set to 2.

    BOM-->Setup tab

    In addition to managing scrap types in BOMs, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009

    also manages scrap in routes. You can do this by specifying a scrap percentage

    for the operation(s) in which scrap is expected.The scrap percentage means that more material and work centers are needed to

    produce the scheduled quantity. Therefore, the system takes scrap percentages

    into account during estimating and production order scheduling.

    Route--setup tab

    Error quantity while reporting as finished is also used to report the number of defective items to be reported as finished for the current production order.
