Accidentally Deleted my "Item Description Field in Report Writer" - How can i rebuild it?

Hello, recently deleted my item description field in Report Writer by accident and i'm trying to figure out how to rebuild it. I'm not sure what all was in the field.

Could i restore GP to an earlier date and would the field still be in RW? Or will i have to make the new field?

Hi Kim -

Two ways:

If this was a standard field, you should be able to choose the field from the table in the Toolbox in report writer

If you want to restore the report completely, you just need to delete the modified report from the right pane and then re-add it from the original reports.

Hi Sean, thanks for the reply!

The field came with Report Writer, however when i look back in the toolbox, under calculated fields, it isn't there. Do you think deleting my report will bring it back? I didn't just delete the field from my report, i completely deleted the field from the system =/. Don't you love days when you make silly mistakes!?!

Hi Kim -

I don't think you could have deleted the field from the system. If this was a calculated field which was part of the original report, deleting the modified report and creating a new, in theory, should bring it back.

I would try removing and recreating the report first and see what happens.

If you haven't made to many other changes you can delete this report from Report Writer and the insert it back in. This will bring this report back into report writer and you lose all your previous changes. Now did you delete the Item Description field from Report Writer or just from one report? In R/W under Ffields the New and Delete buttons are dim so how did you delete this field?
