Custom Sales Transaction Window

Hi,

At my company, we use trinity in GP 2010 for dual quantities summary. We are going to migrate to GP 2013 from GP 2010 and that option is out of the picture. Our WDSC will manage the dual quantities for us but I need a field to use in GP 2013 to display the UOM from that product. Right now GP just use the UOM of the product, but we sold some of the item in CASE not in LB. Can this be possible?

    Hi Joel,

I think you are asking if multiple selling unit of measures can be used and assigned to an item. If this is indeed your question it is absolutely possible. I have some items that sell in over 5 different unit of measures which has made for some interesting reporting requirements. Can you give me a little more information about what you are trying to accomplish? I am a little thrown off by your question about customization because I believe this is out of the box functionality.

    Regards,

    Kirk

    Thanks Kirk,

right now for GP 2010 we use trinity (myridas) because our product are random weight. We sold or invoice cases sold it in LB. I know that GP cannot manage 2 UOM for a product. But my WDCS will do the dual quantities or change from LB to Case base on AVERAGE WEIGHT. But my costumer need to see both things, cases and weight. Someone told me that my WDCS could write in a USER DEFINE table and I just need to activated in the sales transaction entry windows.

    sorry for my English.

    Hi Joel,

Are you using SOP or AR invoicing?

It sounds like you might just need to define the field in SOP setup. I can't remember the exact path to the window but let me know if you need it and I can look it up for you.

    Regards,

    Kirk

    Hi Kirk,

    Hi Kirk,

If you want to add an additional field to the sales transaction entry scrolling window, you will have to add it with modifier and then populate the value using VBA. Unfortunately, you can't just drag it from a table to the scrolling window. You could also use Dexterity.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

    Hi Leslie,

I believe I misunderstood what Joel was trying to accomplish but you pointed him in the right direction.

    Thank you,

    Kirk

    Hi Joel,

As suggested by Leslie, it can be done in two ways. In order to do it with VBA you require license for that product. I hope, you have the license for the VBA Modifier? If not, you have to go with the dexterity but that involves bit of extra coding and deployment work. Better, contact the Dexterity developer for your requirement.

Thanks to all... we will use Reporting Services to create the report. Hopefully we can make  all the UOM available.  Thanks again for all the info in this matter.

    RE: Custom Sales Transaction Window

    Hi Shane,

Just so you know, anyone who is on GP 2013 automatically has Modifier. All of my clients picked it up when the upgraded. My clients that only had GL, AR and AP picked it up too. As you may know, I don't sell the software, If I'm wrong someone will hopefully respond with a correction.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

    Hi Leslie,
I am not sure how the GP2013 Modifier comes automatically. But, I believe the clients should have purchased the Licensing for the Configuration and Development (Customization Package). The "MODIFIER WITH VISUAL BASIC FOR APPLICATIONS" comes with the Customization package.
