Business Alerts GP2013 with SQL Server 2012

Hi

I'm trying to setup alert emails for Business Alerts in GP2013 SP2 with SQL Server 2012. I have successfully setup database mail on the SQL Server, with my test email working correctly.

I am a bit confused with the assistance provided in https://mbs2.microsoft.com/Knowledgebase/KBDisplay.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;915097

I ran the scripts but had messages that I have the missing object - master.dbo.xp_sendmail. From an early post on the community it seems that this object is redundant.

When doing a test email in GP using Business Alerts I receive the message - "the following error occurred in SQL Server. No global profile is configured. Specify a profile name in the @profile_name parameter..

However I am still stuck with the test emails (message above) or live emails not being sent from GP2013 with SQL 2012 environment.

Any assistance is greatly appreciate

thanks

Kirstie

You may want to post this in SQL forms Kirstie as this focus is more on the setup of dbmail.

Thanks Jonathan. I did hear from MS hear in Aus. The response that worked is as follows: (Thanks David)

We followed these steps to set a default profile:

    1. Within SQL Server Management Studio expand Management.

    2. Right click Database Mail and select Configure Database Mail.

    3. Skip the configuration wizard launch page, then select Manage profile security.

    4. In the Default Profile field select Yes by the profile you wish to make the default email provider. This address will be used to send operator messages.
