Error While Syncing Customer in Shopify <> Business Central Integration

Hi everyone,

I'm working on a Shopify to Business Central integration, and I’m getting the following error when trying to sync a customer:

Has anyone faced a similar issue?

It seems to be coming from Shopify’s side (internal server error), but I’m not sure if it’s a config issue on the BC side or something else.

This happens only when syncing a customer

Any guidance, similar experiences, or troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

    Hi Jael,

The error message you're seeing — "Internal error... INTERNAL_SERVER_ERROR" — typically indicates a temporary issue on Shopify's end. However, here are a few things you can check to rule out any configuration issues on the Business Central side:

    1. Validate Customer Data:

      • Ensure the customer record being synced contains all required fields (e.g., email, name, address).
      • Shopify may reject incomplete or improperly formatted data, even if the error message is vague.
    2. Check API Limits and Permissions:

      • Confirm that your Shopify API credentials have the necessary permissions to create or update customers.
      • Also, check if you're hitting any rate limits, especially if syncing in bulk.
    3. Retry Mechanism:

      • If this is a transient error, implementing a retry mechanism in your integration flow may help.
    4. Review Shopify Logs:

      • If possible, check Shopify’s admin logs or contact their support with the Request ID provided in the error message (961) for more details.
    5. Connector Version:

      • Make sure you're using the latest version of the Shopify Connector in Business Central, as updates may resolve known issues.

Let me know if you'd like help reviewing the customer data or setting up error handling!

Please verify if this response was helpful.

    Best regards!
