Drop Ship Sales Order

Hello,

We have a scenario where one customer has multiple drop ship sales orders. We would like to have these sales orders linked to only one PO since it will all be ordered from the same vendor. What is the best method to achieve this?

If you're going to Link multiple Sales Orders to a Single Purchase Order, the Drop Ship Sales Order to Purchase Order process changes. Typically, a line or lines on a Sales Order, which are to be drop shipped enable the Sales Order Action Button drop-down to Purchase the Drop Shipped items from a vendor (the Sales Order must be part of a batch to perform this task). This process creates Purchase Orders depending on what vendor supplies which items to Be Drop Shipped.

The alternative to the typical method would be to separate the Sales Order and Purchase Order Process, and link them after the Sales Orders are saved. Open the Purchase Order Entry window and enter a Drop Ship Purchase Order document to the vendor who will fulfill the Drop Ship Sales Orders. You can then pick a single customer to Drop Ship the items to. Make sure you select Allow Sales Document Commitments, so you can map the purchased items to the sales orders they are being purchased to fulfill.
