Change dimensions on PO created from direct delivery

I have a purchase order was created from sales order --> direct delivery, while generating the PO, the system didn't copy the dimensions from the SO header&lines to the PO header&lines.

the sales order is invoiced and the purchase order is received, now i am unable to post the purchase invoice due to the missing dimensions "mandatory", moreover i am unable to edit the purchase order or even the purchase invoice by adding this missing dimensions! i am stacked :D

so, is there any idea can contribute to handle this issue?

notes:

-Changing the account structure setup to allow null dimensions is not a preferred solution.

-Change management\Workflow is not enabled

-Product: Dynamics AX 2012 R3

Is that particular issue with only one PO or recurring issue?

If that is just for one, you can thing of getting updated default dimension in Table but test that in Non Prod instance first.

And if that is recurring issue, we would have to check the PurchCreateFromSalesOrder class. That drop ship feature copies the inventory dimensions not sure if copies default dimension from SO to PO. What about dimensions on used vendor?

After applying some test scenarios, i found that the system inherits the dimension from the vendor profile and it's OK for me, my point is how to post the purchase invoice?

The purchase invoice cannot be posted due to the missing dimensions, i am unable to edit the purchase order or even the purchase invoice to add this missing dimensions?

Thanks Sukrut a lot for trying to solve this issue, I've changed the dimension values on field "defaultdimension" in"PurchTable" and "PurchLine" to my desired values,

the system accepts this change as the PO status is received and i finally posted the purchase invoice with its correct dimensions :D

the GL is affected correctly as well.

unfortunately, i tried to cancel the product receipt but i couldn't because the linked SO status is invoiced.

while generating the PO, the system didn't copy the dimensions from the SO header&lines to the PO header&lines. Is there any possible way that the system will copy the financial dimension from SO to PO without reading the default dimension

    in vendor?

    Hi SDpulmano,

As per my previouse experience, The system is not copying the financial dimentions from the sales order to purchase order, the financial dimentions on the purchase order inherites from the vendor profile.
