Adding a URL Subarea in Sitemap to a Network Location

Hi All,

Is it possible to add a URL subarea to your sitemap that brings you to a network folder?

I'm thinking that when you click the shortcut in the navigation bar it will then open a Windows

Explorer session.

The idea here is that a user can open a specific folder to view a file while in Dynamics.

I have added the subarea in an existing sitemap but it's not appearing in the app after publishing.

Regards,

Jason

    Hi Jason,

I'm not sure this is achievable right from a sitemap subarea URL.

That being said, I would recommend that you try to achieve this by using an HTML web resource (that the subarea would reference) and that would contain a JavaScript that opens the desired folder in the Windows Explorer. Perhaps validate first how to achieve this in JavaScript?

    Sure thanks.

    That's a good idea.

    I'll test and try out.

    Jason
