Last Activity Date Rollup Field shows wrong date

Hi

I'm facing a weird problem when using Last Activity Date Rollup Field on my contacts. When I open up the records with a Last Activity Date filled in, I see the date is set to '2/01/1900', when I hit refresh (manually), the correct date is shown...

Also in views this date '2/01/1900" is shown for those records with an activity linked to them, but the manual refreshes on that field do show properly afterwards. Can anyone suggest a solution for this? I tried a Bulk Workflow to force refresh the fields on all active contacts, no result...

    Hi sclarebout,

Is this a custom rollup field you created on the Contact entity?  What date is the rollup field?  I tried to do this myself with a custom field tied to related activities and there is no "Last Activity Date", I can connect with MAX / MIN on one of the dates on the activity.

Overall my guess is that the job runs every 12 hours and will not run immediately.  You will need to wait till this job executes to update the values.  My guess is you are forcing the update on the rollup field on each entity which is pulling the correct value.  You may want to see if the information is all accurate tomorrow :)

    Thanks,

Were these contacts imported? or synchronised from an external application... if yes, that might be the reason

    Hi Drew,

it is a custom field yes, based on a blog post I've read: canada.hitachi-solutions.com/.../last-activity-date-in-dynamics-crm-2015

I used the Activity entity to get the information from instead of the Regarding Phone Call in this post.

This field already exists for two days...the values don't get correctly updated though...

These contacts were imported before we customized the form with Last Activity Date. No external source is active...

Is the rollup job running successfully for the contact entity?  I added the rollup field and when I go into the standard entity form it shows the value.  I tried to add to the Active Contacts view and the field does not show a value at all for some reason in my online environment so I am having a problem here but manifesting a bit different.

That's more or less the problem I have. My rollup field is not updated on the form as well as on the view...
