Importing modified system security roles

Hi Guys,

I have modified some system security roles in my test environment. If I import those system security roles into another environment. Will those modified system security roles overwrite the system security roles in the target environment.

Yes, it will overwrite your security role in target environment. Even i also faced these issue. you have to little bit take care of it.

Hi SPAdmin,

You can migrate security role from one environment to other, Yes it will override the existing security role. You can also create different solution for migrating the security role.

yes it should overwrite, you just need to select overwrite option when you are importing security solution.

I would suggest prepare an unmanaged solution and add the security role there and modify the security role . Export the solution as undamaged and managed as per your needs .

So If I create an unmanaged custom solution and then import it as unmanaged then will it also overwrite the roles at target ?
