Can't open a report through report server

ReportReport
Posted on by 152

Hello All,

I created a simple SSRS report in D365 FO onebox environment, and ended up with the rsReportContextParametervalue cannot be null error when i run the report through report server. However, when i debug it and run it from VSTS, i can see the report opening up.

When i checked the event viewer for some clue on the type of error when opening through report server url, i see that i have multiple  exceptions like

- An exception occurred during DB access execution

- unexpected error occurred during RDCE process

I checked a number of blogs on this, where there are suggestions to rename the parameter and redploy. However in D365 FO, these system generated parameters cannot be renamed or deleted.

Any help around this is greatly appreciated

Thanks,

Swetha K Desai

refresh your metadata on report design or restart the reporting service (if it is dev box)

looks like you have added some contract parms and later deleted that from your contract and Report design is not in sync.

    Amir,

    Thanks for the response.

But, restarting reporting services did not work.

How do i refresh the report design metadata? I am working on onebox D365 FO environment.

    Thanks,

    Sukrut,

Tried it and it did not seem to work. The problem is none of my reports, be it query based or RDP based run through report server.

Is this something to do with the execution account access to report server DB? I am not very sure what credentials should the permissions in SQL Reporting DB be given to?

I am working on onebox environment for D365 finance and operations. Any suggestions around it?

    Thanks,

    Swetha K Desai
