Can cached mode be disable in Outlook 2010 for GP?

Hello,

We recently upgraded GP 2010 to Office 2010 ProPlus 32 bit. Users are beginning to have issues since I understand cached mode needs to be enabled for email to work. Many users try to email invoices and the email form never comes up in GP when they do this. Essentially nothing happens unless I enable cached mode. Even with cached mode enabled users still find that email sent through GP does not get to other users unless they open Outlook.

The environment is Citrix XenApp 5.x and we have 2 GP 2010 client servers. I understand that Service Pack 3 addresses this issue but in the mean time is there a fix? I noticed online there are comments that this is not supposed to effect Office 2010 32 bit but in our case it does. Thanks!

I forgot to mention my reasons for disabling caching in Outlook I apologize. The reason I need to do this is because many users have multi-gigabyte mailboxes and if they sync onto the GP servers disk space will kill our GP servers and we will be down regardless. Yes I also know I can pipe these .OST files to a network directory (even though Microsoft does not suggest or support it) but we simply want users to be able to send email and have a profile like Outlook 2003 worked. I also understand that GP 2013 changes this functionality completely but until we get to that point I need a different solution. Thanks.

Yes Jason you should be able to as this bug was resolved in SP3.
