AR Invoice and Memo Screen Crashes

Hi

I have a scenario where on launching the invoice and memo screen on Windows Server 2012R2 the screen keeps on crashing.  The screen is opening perfectly on the workstations but not on the server.

When I click on the problem details I am seeing "problem signature 9 - system.IO.Filenotfoundexeception"

Anyone has any ideas what is causing this and how to fix the same?

Any input will be appreciated.

Thanks

When I look at the printer setup on the server it is not an actual printer but it is an XPS printer that apparently was installed with the OS.

In Dynamics SL that same default printer is set up.

The invoice and memo screen is the only screen that crashes, with or without customizations.  I tried opening it up in standard mode and the screen still crashes.  However, the screen was opening without a problem before.

I will see if the IT guys can reinstall the client and see if that helps.

Lisa, to make sure I understand what you are saying, are you saying you looked at the printer setup on that server and there is a default printer established?  If so, is it an actual printer or something like an XPS or PDF printer that directs output to a file?

Under Dynamics SL, what do you have for the printer setup as found under the "3-sails" button?  Is that set to default to the Windows printer or a specific printer.

Finally, is this the only screen that fails when launched directly on the server?  Does this particular screen have any customizations?  The error is general enough that it could mean that the SL client registry entries on the server are incorrect.  As a test, you could uninstall the SL client on the server and re-install it to see if that resolves the issue.

    Hi Rick

The printer setup on the server is pointing to a default printer but where exactly do I check to see if it is defaulting to print to file with an invalid directory path?

    Lisa,

Check your printer setup on that server.  It sounds like the default printer might be defaulting to print to file with the directory not being a valid directory path on that server.
