Dynamics 365 Audit Log retention

Hi All,

Apologies if this has been asked before - im trying to find anything that details the audit log retention in dynamics 365.  Nominally i believe they are kept indefinitely so long as there is space available in the DB you are currently paying for but i cant find anything that actually says that.

Is there anyone who can a) confirm that the Audit logging is kept for ever (assuming there is space) and or b) point me at some MS doco that actually details that.

    Hi,

    Yes you are correct, audit data is not deleted, you have to clean db yourself check it here: www.microsoft.com/.../recover-database-space-by-deleting-audit-logs.aspx

    Thanks.  I had seen that.  As silly as it sounds i was hoping somewhere Microsoft actually state that audit data is not deleted...

    Not just Audit data, Microsoft does not delete any entity data from your active organization.

    Still dont have anywhere 'official' that actually states this.  Surely somewhere in the land of MS there is something that actually says this is how it works.
