Backing Up and Restoring Dynamics 365 Marketing Data

Hi

I have been reviewing the restore options for Dynamics 365 Marketing as detailed in https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/marketing/manage-marketing-environments#copy-a-marketing-environment-to-another-environment

It appears from this that Dynamics environment backups do not include Marketing Services or the data they contain. When restoring a backup, all Marketing interaction data and insights are lost. This means there's currently no possible way to backup marketing data and should an environment, where Dynamics 365 Marketing is installed, require restoring, as all Marketing data will be lost.

This is very worrying that it is not possible to recover that marketing data should a restore to the environment be required. You effectively have to re-provision the Marketing app for a restored Dynamics environment with no way to recover the interaction and insights data.

Does anyone have any insights or workarounds for this issue?

    Thank you, Leah. We have already posted this on the ideas site so hopefully there will be a resolution to this issue soon as we have customers reticent to use the solution because of this.

    Hi Peter,

    Unfortunately, there are no measures to alleviate this problem currently, which is by-design.

    As the documentation said, you can only back up the database for your marketing services, either to blob storage to some other storage media.

    However, the interaction data is only interactable, navigable on the Azure Blob Storage and there is confirmed no possible way at the moment to restore/copy them to the Target environment.

    Maybe you can create a new idea through the below URL, then ask your colleagues to raise up the votes
