Onboarding external speakers for team live-webinars

Hello,

If external persons are to participate as speakers, they will always be granted access as participants only. Does anyone have any ideas what we should change?

Is there an impact if the contact, that is connected to the speaker, is internal team member or external member?

Does anyone have an idea to solve this?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

This is mainly limited by Teams. It is recommended that you seek answers from Teams.

Here is a documentation about the ability for Office 365 guests and federated users to be presenters and producers of a Teams live event.

Plan for live events in Microsoft Teams - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Docs

If this helped you, I'd appreciate it if you'd mark this as a Verified Answer, which may in turn help others as well.

    Best Regards,

    Nya

    Hi Nya,

thanks for your advice. We tried the way you suggested but unfortunately it did not work. The speaker could also join only as a participant. Do you have any further information or does anybode solve this issue?

    Best regards

    Mario

    Hi Mario,

We ran into this recently.  We have a live event guest channel in teams that we have to add people to.  They then get a confirmation that they need to accept and then after that we add them to the event as a presenter.  My understanding is they have to somehow be in your instance.  I believe this has to happen ahead of time and then you can send them the event link the producer has.  You could also invite them after the event starts and they should pop up as a presenter.

It would be great to have an easier system.  We have been doing a lot of testing lately around the events and how they work.

    Thanks

I've never thought that keynote speakers could give speeches during online events, but during the Covid-19 pandemic, I was proven wrong. Our company set up an event for all the employees quarantined at home. They invited two keynote speakers to give light-hearted speeches in the spirit of team-building. I was always under the impression that speakers were overly serious people, but the guys our management invited that day totally stole the online show. Everybody loved their speeches, and our boss plans to invite them again soon to a normal company outing event.
