Send sales shipment document via email (either manual or by flow)

Whereby it is easy to send quotes and sales invoice, I cannot find any option to send sales shipment documents via email. When opening a shipment, the send button just offers the send to file option but there is no way to send an email.

I have tried to create a Flow but it seems the pdfDocuments method does not support sales shipments either.

Does anyone have an idea how to send sales shipment documents via email in Business Central without saving the pdf and then attaching it to an email by hand?

Thank you!!!

Peter

    Hello Peter,

At the moment this option is not available for Sales Shipment, that is why it is not available also in the Email Scenarios.

To have the behavior expected I suggest to vote the following idea, The Product team reviews this feedback continuously and the more votes, the more likely the suggestion will be a candidate for a future release:

    experience.dynamics.com/.../

    Otherwise, customization might be needed.

Thank you in advance for your understanding.

    Kind regards,

    Laeticia Cunha

    Hi

We had a similar issue. Most app developer logic here is that you print packing slip (shipment) at the time of shipping and attaching to package and no need to email it.

We had two options. Development or 3rd party app. We used 3rd party app since we could utilize it for other purposes.

Look into Zetadoc. Their express version is free and if it works that is all you need.

We used Clever Document Delivery since we could write a quick expression then when we ship the package system can send email as well automatically.

If you use the Post and send function on the sales order and only chose to post delivery.

That should send out a document according to the document sending profile and the document selections set up on the customer.

That is the closest you get out of the box i think.

I think the thought behind this is that you should send the documents at the time of posting.
