I'm not sure if this is possible, but we have consolidated a subsidiary company into it's parent company. It is becoming part of one of the divisions within the parent company. Is it possible to pull the prior year information, actual and budget into the current reports for the parent company? I'm not sure if I'm clear on what I'm saying, but here is what I mean...
Parent Summary -1
Division -2
Department -3
Division -4
Department -5
Previous Subsidiary -6
The Subsidiary is #6, which along with Department #5, we want included in the totals with Division #4. Division #4 and Division #2 would then total to Parent #1
As of right now, there is no prior year information for Subsidiary #6 because it was it's own company with it's own reports. Is there any way to pull this information from that company into our current reports?

I have the same question (0)Hi Stephenie,
Please let me know whether my understanding is correct. You have previous subsidiary #6 with general ledger balance i.e. accounts payable and accounts receivable but no subsidiary to backup the balance of AR & AP. If this is the case and if you have the open transaction data in excel you can import the same using macro. Once you import these transactions either you can avoid posting the financial journal of the same since your GL has this balance already or else you can post the financial batch but change the debit & credit into same account. If you are trying to bring all the historical subsidiary you need to consider how big is the data and how many year you wanted to bring in. The other issue once you bring all historical subsidiary transactions then you might have to book payment and receipt in order to bring down to open AR & AP. Please let me know if you have more questions.
