Duplicate Detection Job - How to choose which record is the none-duplicate?

When viewing duplicates found via the duplicate detection job,  is there a way to choose which record is the none-duplicate?

For instance, in the screen shot attached, I want the found duplicate record to be the main record, so basically for the records to switch places

Is there a way to tell it which version is the main one, maybe by date?

Any help is much appreciated

    Hello,

I believe it's up to you to decide which of records is duplicate.

Agreed with Andrew ,depends on which column and condition you selected for the rules accordingly the view is created and all the matching data will be display.

If you still have doubt please refer below reference how the view is designed for duplicate detection rule.

No sorry, doesnt help, I want to be able to have the duplicate record found in the lower window swapped with the one at the top, so i can process it

The records are quotes, and they have a version number in the name but i only want to keep the lastest version, but in this case version 1 is in the top part where as the latest is the found 'duplicate' below.

    Hope that makes sense

    Hi,

When you view the duplicate records, you will find all the duplicates record in the top window and based on the record you select at the top window, corresponding duplicate will be visible o the bottom window. So assuming you have 2 quote records which are duplicate (one is closed & other is in draft). Both these records will appear on top window but when you select Closed record, you will get the Draft record in the bottom window and when you select draft record, open record will be visible in bottom window.

Easiest way to identify is based on created on date, the latest version will have the latest created on.

    Hope this helps.
