I'm looking for some opinions on the triggering of workflows for activities. I have several different workflows I wish to run dependant on the content of a field on the activity form. Only one workflow is likely to run per activity and I would like to distinguish which workflow has executed for the activity. I can see a couple of options.
1. Javascript in the form to execute the specific workflow when the field changes. This would only run the workflow on activities that warrant it.
2. A 'master' workflow that runs on every activity with child workflows that branch on the value of the field.
Any opinions on the pros and cons of either method would be appreciated.

I have the same question (0)#1 is not an option because other tasks (plugins, workflows) can create activties.
#2 is the way to do it. you can publish/unpublish each of them as you want and it does not impact the other business process...
But it's only an opinion...
