Who has access to delete Budgets?

Posted on by 60

Our entire year's budgets were accidentally deleted. How can I see who has access to deleting these budgets and is there an audit trail to see which profile deleted the budgets?

    Hi Nichole,

Anyone with access to the Budget Maintenance window (and the delete button thereon) can delete a budget. The out-of-the-box roles that include this window are:

    ACCOUNTING MANAGER*

    BOOKKEEPER*

    CERTIFIED ACCOUNTANT*

It's not unusual for budgets to get deleted in this window, because users think they are just deleting the budget for a specific account instead of the entire budget. Oops.

As far as an audit trail. Absent your having purchased and set up an audit trail module, there is not an audit trail. If you turned on ACTIVITY TRACKIING in Administration | Setup | System | Activity Tracking,

you could have tracked file deletions. The deletion of the budget ID would have been tracked and you could have known who deleted it.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
