What functionality do you loose by not using Business Central alongside Office 365 Subscriptions (i.e. On Premise Exchange and Traditional Office Applications)

I appreciate there are some fairly obvious things which would not be available such as single sign on, two factor authentication and collaboration via MS Teams.  But what functionality (if any) in applications such as Excel and Outlook would you loose?

I can see there is a plug in for Outlook so am I able to still raise transactions/view documents/records? Or is it limited

Do i loose the ability to edit and send back data in Excel? Or do i get no functionality at all?

Thanks,

I have the same question (0)

Hi, If you are talking about the On-Pre version, yes you will lose the ability to edit and send back data in Excel.

You would lose a lot of functionality with Excel and Word Template changes.

Outlook is really just cosmetic losses and so is Teams.  But you really DO need Excel

You are out of support using on premise Exchange.  So emailing capabilities may not work in BC
