Dynamics 365 Outlook Client with no IFD

Posted on by 580

Hi,

I currently upgraded CRM 2013 to Dynamics 365 version 8.2 for one of our client. This client uses Microsoft CRM for Outlook, but he does not use IFD.

In version 2013 we were able to setup the Outlook client simply using the server name in the setup. Example http://servername:5555. Now after the upgraded, when we try to setup Outlook with Dynamics 365 I receive an error. It seems that it is looking for https (IFD), which is not configured. Is there a way to remove this requirement?

Here is the log:

    Hi happyman,

I was able to resolve this. I bind the site in IIS with https and a ssl certificate. Make sure you have a valid certificate, in my case we used a self signed cert.

Yes I've update the client plugin to the latest version and note that this is Dynamics 365 for Outlook not D365 APP.

Here is a screenshot of the error I get.

Did you update the Outlook app to be D365 as well?  also, it looks like maybe it's assuming the connection is https, but you're only using http to actually connect.
