Hi everyone,

I want to import product to D365 finance

I tried from data management but I need to add the COST field but it's not there.

can anyone help me with this??

Hi w.sallam,

We usually use inventory movement journal to upload the cost and Qty. Did you check inventory journal data entity?

Please share some more details. Do you want to upload purchase base price or product running Cost?

Can you provide more details what you tested so far?

Do you want to import data into the product form or into the released product form?

Do you use standard costs or a current costs for your items?

Would be great if you could clarify a couple of things.

Hi W.Sallam,

If you want to fill the item cost on the released product details, regardless of the inventory opening balance, you can use the field UNITCOST in the Released Products V2 entity.

the field we want to import is the Last Cost Price.

and I couldn't find it on Released Products V2 entity.

Isn't the last cost price the one that should be defined by D365FO based on the transactions recorded?

Why is it that you want to import it?

Wouldn't filling the cost price field do the job as well?

Hi w.sallam,

On the released products form, there is no field called 'Last Cost Price'. There is a field 'Latest cost price' (No/Yes) or 'Price' field on the Manage cost fast tab. To be sure, are you referencing to one of these two or a third one? If it is another field, it might be part of a customization. Then in addition the data entity also needs to be extended.

Thanks Andre for your assist in this issue.

I could find the field I was looking for.

just another thing to say,

we are using data management for export and import the released products.

but it's a little slow, took around 2 hours to import 7000 products.

is there any way to make the import faster as we have a large amount of products to import.
