Our customer is asking, "Is it possible to open a closed year? I accidentally closed 2011." If so, how do I accomplish that?

We've had Microsoft's Professional Services Team do this for several customers in the past - it's a pretty straightforward process that they have 'packaged' and we've not had a singe issue with it.  The price differs depending on the size/number of companies/years to be opened as well as turnaround time required, but in all cases, both we and the customer felt it was worth it to have a guaranteed solution from MS.

When you say they closed 2011, you mean the financial close?  The financial close clears all P&L accounts and transfers the results to retained earnings.  I would think about a dozen times before attempting to reverse this process myself.  Paying MBS Professional Services to help them re-open the year might be cheap insurance against potential future issues.

That would be wonderful. I appreciate it.

I believe there is a service from Professional Services that might help you.

But I have accomplished this by SQL, let me get all the steps I took last time i did this
