Month End Automatic reversal entry

Hi All, I am posting an automatic reversal journal entry for month end. The system is not reversing the entry when I tick the reversing entry box along with the date on the journal batch header. But it's reversing the entry when reversing the entry box is ticked on the journal line level.

Hi Umer,

The reversing entry on the header is intended as a default value for when you created the lines. Indeed, the reversing should be enabled on the line level. When you change the setting on the header after you created the lines, it will not change the lines along with the new header value. So, ensure the lines will be created with the reversing option enabled if you need to have the automatic reversing entry.

Hi Andre, Thanks for your reply. Would you please elaborate more? you mean to say that; the header level tick box will be ticked automatically when we tick the lines?

Hi Umer,

No. That is not what I meant to say. The header setting will only act as a default when you create new lines in the journal. The reversal logic is only evaluating the setting on the lines. During posting of the journal it will ignore the setting on the header and only look at the lines. If this is enabled on the line, a reversed copy of the journal line will be created with the reversal date. Then the journal will be posted to the voucher transactions.
