AX 2020 R3 tax engine 2020-R5

The release notes indicate that the base code version after installing this tax engine should be 1.1.0.0.  The last tax engine set that was released (2020-R1 and 2020-R1d) put us at base code version 1.0.3.0.  2020-R1 included an application hotfix and a kernel hotfix.

I think we need an application hotfix to get us up to base code version 1.1.0.0.

Thanks.

    Hello,

We had our VAR start a case with Microsoft and here is Microsoft's reply:
    - The version of 1.0.3.0 for payroll 2020-R5 in 2012 is an expected version. If the versions are in sync you should be fine
So the documentation is off, but your environment is ok.

    Hello, rmelanos,

    Thanks for your STE.zip.

May I ask you to check the "Application Base code version" and "Tax engine Base code version"?

According to the installation, it is expected:

    Application BCV: 1.1.0.0

    Tax engine BCV: 1.1.1.0

De facto, after installing the Kernel hotfix, and replacing the STE folder with the one that you provided. Our versions are:

Application BCV: 1.0.3.0 (Which is set in the #PayrollConstants macros in AOT)

Tax engine BCV: 1.0.3.0 (Which comes from the STE\PayrollBaseTaxData.XML)

It is interesting if I missed anything during my installation...

    RE: AX 2020 R3 tax engine 2020-R5

    Hi Xian,

We received confirmation from Microsoft that the version numbers we had were correct and it is just a kernel update. We experienced the freezing in 2 of the 3 environments that we installed it in. I found the problem is the STE components (outside of AX) did not update properly. Check the contents of your STE folder (Example C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics AX\60\Server\[INSTANCENAME]\bin\STE) and many of the objects should be dated 08/19/2020 but you will find 01/09/2020 (2020-R1d). We were lucky the components updated in 1 environment so we just copied them in.

    So try this:

    1. Verify the dates are incorrect in the AOS
    2. Stop the AOS service (all of them)
    3. Rename the STE folder so you have a backup to  revert to
    4. Copy the new folder attached here to your server
    5. Start the AOS service with the updated STE folder
    6. Check the parameters and then click "update tax data"
    7. Update the rest of the AOS servers and restart the AX service
    8. STE.zip

    Hi all,

i tried installing this update, we were on 2020 r1-d, but after applying binary update process completes, when i click on the human resource parameter page to check the version, the form just hangs and goes to not responding. any idea what could be the issue. i think as every one is discussing we should have application update as well.

    Hi Gregster,

It's strange. i also checked on LCS but didn't find any related updates on 2020 R1-d. As ludwig suggested please contact to Microsoft support to at least give you some insight on this.

    Hi rmelonas,

I would recommend contacting the MS support about this issue directly.

They should have all docs and guides available that are needed for that and should be able to help you quickly.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
