AX 2020 R3 tax engine 2020-R5

The release notes indicate that the base code version after installing this tax engine should be 1.1.0.0.  The last tax engine set that was released (2020-R1 and 2020-R1d) put us at base code version 1.0.3.0.  2020-R1 included an application hotfix and a kernel hotfix.

I think we need an application hotfix to get us up to base code version 1.1.0.0.

Thanks.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Gregster,

What AX version do you operate and for which country/region do you need that tax engine?

    Many thanks and best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Gregster ,

Did you check on LCS or customer source by using keywords 2020 or 2021 and payroll? I think MS has released 2020-R5 tax updates for AX 2012 R3.

    Hi Junaid,

I went here: mbs.microsoft.com/.../MicrosoftDynamicsAX2012USPayrollTaxUpdates, downloaded the files available, read the release notes and discovered that there didn't seem to be a hotfix for the base code version.  Comparing the expected base code version after applying 2020-R5 to the base code version after applying 2020-R1, 2020-R1d, there should be an update.

I haven't determined whether that update is part of the Kernel hotfix.  I hope to try installing this in a dev environment to find out.

    Thanks for your reply.

On 2012R3cu13 and we were on payroll tax data version 2020-R1d and we applied the kernel update for 2020-R5 and the base code version remained at 1.0.3.0. Our kernel version went from 6.3.6000.9705 to 6.3.6000.10413. I looked at the form and that value comes from the macro "PayrollConstants" which according to the documentation should have been replaced. I suspect their documentation is incorrect. It is a little reassuring that I'm not the only one that has this issue. We haven't done any testing yet.

    Hi rmelonas,

I would recommend contacting the MS support about this issue directly.

They should have all docs and guides available that are needed for that and should be able to help you quickly.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Gregster,

It's strange. i also checked on LCS but didn't find any related updates on 2020 R1-d. As ludwig suggested please contact to Microsoft support to at least give you some insight on this.
