HQ & STORE POS DATABASE SYNCHRONIZATION

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello

I'm already pos program in two store. but I want to add HQ to get two store data.

I know I have to install HQ and also HQ client to communicate between HQ and store pos.

My question is

1. How can I register 2 store in HQ and synchronize with store when I install HQ and HQ client?

2. Is there any default port number to communicate between HQ and HQ client?

3. How can I upload store database(specially items) to HQ after I install HQ and HQ client?

Ahmed and Christopher have the correct answer.

You could also checkout opSuite instead of using HQ.  They might be able to integrate both stores so that you wouldn't lose sales data.

    Mabuhay!

We do this by creating first the store on HQ Manager then we export it and restor to store branch. Then we install HQ Client on Store and put the settings on the connection via VPN.So this stores will synch via worksheet we apply on the day.

For the worksheet proper (First run) we do item update, cost, and data upload. Then Store will run this first synchas a new store and so on.

The problem here is that you can build an HQ database from one store but you can't do it from two stores unless you decide to forget about the history of one of them

The typical scenario is that a customer has one store and decide to expand and open a new store, so the normal approach is that you create an HQ database from the existing store (Store1) by a simple import process in HQ Administrator, then have this store connected and synchronized properly, then create the second store (Store2) in HQ Manager then create & export its database from HQ Administrator then have this store2 connected and synchronized properly.

So in your case, you will have to forget about the history of one store (assuming store2), and create your HQ database from Store1, then create a NEW database for store2 from HQ and start using it provided that the new database won't have the sales/purchase history

Importing the history from the old store2 database to the new store2 database is doable, but it will require and SQL expert as it involve some time and some SQL scripting to map the IDs
