Hi,
We are finding that a 501 is being created sometimes when a user is working on a 250. Does not seem to happen all the time but has become more frequent since we installed Update CU5 to bring us to 2.0.2000
Happened 3 times this morning and twice yesterday.
Used to be maybe once a month so not worth chasing down.
The worksheet says that it was created by Item Dynamic Fix which i understood to be a feature on one of our Retail Realm products but it happens when we are creating the 250 directly within HQ.
Appreciate any ideas you might have as it freezes up the system when the 501 is running through the stores. (It also seems to be automatically approved. It is not just created waiting for approval)
Thanks
Shane
Thanks Kevin,
Read that list before. Thanks for doing it up as it was very relevant and helpful.
Very interesting to see the number of companies using HQ struggling to find a suitable replacement. Lots of basic POS systems out there but it is the order, stock management, analytics that we need.
Something like cloud retailer sounds great but the lack of bulk management tools is an big issue and i have not seen any localisation for the EU/Ireland market.
Hi Shane - thanks for sharing the resolution to the 501 issue! I'm not sure how much this helps since this is only based on RMS users in the US that have contacted me but I've been trying to keep a log of what other RMS users are doing regarding RMS/HQ end of life: www.pospondering.com/.../what-other-microsoft-rmshq-users-are.html
Not Sure. Budget constraints have meant we did not do the move a year ago and the aim then was SAP Business 1 but reassessing now.
Putting some options together again and hopefully will get sign off on the budget before the end of the year.
We seem to fall between systems. Retail Hero is not a step forward as far as i can tell but SAP Business One and Microsoft Dynamics Retail seems overkill.
Hi Shane ,
That is great news. What system will yourl be migratting to?
Kind Regards
Nishaan
Actually found the cause of this behaviour. It is caused by Retail Realm HQ Utilities and a function in that called Item Dynamic Fix. It is a check to ensure that a product that is being amended (Say through a 250) exists in the Item Dynamic table. I am not sure why this function exists but seems to have been activated on our system for more years than i have been here so dont want to turn it off. If the item does not exist it creates a 501 (predating the 250) so that a entry is created in the Item.dynamic table.
The fix for us is to wait after setting up a product for an hour or two until the 250 has been run in all stores and a 401 has been completed afterwards (We run them every 15 min) We tested the solution and it seems to work.
Would be interested to know the reason for the Item.Dynamic.Fix in the first place but since we are probably only 6 months left on this system there is probably no good reason to change things.
Thanks
Shane
