The answer is "yes".  Whether Buy/Sell or Make/Sell the planning engine works the same.  The system sees the stock levels for the Items and suggests supply orders to replenish inventory.  The only difference is one creates Purchase Orders and the other creates Production Orders.

The same holds true in a Sell/Buy or Sell/Make environment.  The system is checking overall demand and creating supply to fulfill it.  The big difference is one creates supply in hopes of sales and the other creates supply based on sales.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi Ben Baxter

thank you so much. That was my explanation to them. But they said we have an item that we buy it and sell it. We want to put "buy" demand forecast and than "sell" demand forecast. Then run MRP based on combination of these. I walked them through "Demand Forecast" and mentioned you can enter sales then "component" for difference between buy/sell. Still they want to enter separate demand. That is why I am struggling with this question.
