Print Assembly Order with Pick List

Posted on by 2,437

Hi All,

We are using assemble to order function and want make printing more efficient. is there a way to automate or print pick list and assembly order together in one step. For example when we print the inventory pick list, can the system print the assembly order? or create an action in sales order to print both.  Not sure how others are creating pick lists for assembly items and perhaps it would be possible to add extra page to current pick list with Assembly order details

Thanks

    Samantha,

On a Sales Order when the Item is Assemble to Order and it auto-creates the Assembly Order you could have your Partner add an extension to auto-print the Assembly Order document. Note that off the Sales Order you noted you create the Inventory Pick List. I am assuming you are printing the Pick Instruction or are you actually printing and Inventory Pick document? In either case, to print the Assembly Order together with which ever document you are printing, your Partner can help.

I don’t recall the exact layout of the inventory pick. But I know the most basic pick  instruction report has an assembly break down. Is this not enough? It shows the sales item and the component parts. Do you have explicit instructions on the assembly order? I think it would be a customisation to do this as report selections work with the relevant data item. For example, printing an inventory pick then it only has context of the warehouse activity. Try adding the report Id of the assembly after the report selection for the inventory pick, on the off chance it saves you some development.
