We have a filtration process that is applied to a given product in inventory. This filtration uses tap water which is from a faucet, which is not an inventory item and we do not track it.
We would like to be able to produce this item, via Batch Order, however we cannot because it has no active Formula.
When trying to create the Formula for this item, to activate it requires a Formula Line. However, it is not comprised of any other raw materials. Only a route is necessary.
How do we perform this task? Do we add itself to its own Formula? Is this circularity going to cause issues?
Thanks

I have the same question (0)We have found a way around this: .NET Business Connector.
It will allow you to create a BOM or Formula and set the fields as Active+Approved without passing through the validation normally required when using the GUI.
This allows for a no-component BOM or Formula and passes all consistency checks and has been used in production order testing without issue.
