How to extract TB from the database

Hi everyone,

I am trying to find a table from the database which will extract the Trial ‘Balance ( i am using the GL Entry and GL Register for the transactions).

I’ve read quite a few articles which suggest that we should be using the GL Account table plus the GL Entry to calculate the Trial Balance but i was wondering if there is a specific table that will show the (Trial Balance) numbers for each period on the financial year?

I would appreciate any help to identify a suitable table from the back-end.

    Hi Neo,

    Unfortunately there's not a specific or 1 table that shows the data/details of the trial balance.  If you design Report 4 (as an example) you will see the data sources are the two tables you mention already; G/L Account & GL Entry.  Hopefully the community will have other suggestions to provide.

    The approach you need to take to this all depends on what tool you want to use for your export.

    If you want to do it from within NAV you should start with the G/L Account table and use the flowfields in that table. And you can export the data through XML port, report or a codeunit.

    If you want to do your export using an external tool like a SQL query or similar you will have to join the G/L Account table with the G/L entry table.
