Add Fields to Event Registration Form on Portal

Hi,

We downloaded the sample event website and are developing it locally. We would like to capture more information about the contact in the Event Registration form:

We have a custom field in the contact record and would like to show the field here so that the contact fills out the form and the record gets updated.

How can we do this please?

Custom registration fields do not update the contact record. Also. these have to be created for each event right? We would like the fields to appear in all events
