Fixed Asset Adjustment

Hi - 

I accidentally acquired the full value of an invoice as a fixed asset, but part of it was supposed to be expensed.  I have also already run depreciation on the asset.  What is the best method of fixing this error?  i'd like to adjust the portion of the asset that should be expensed and reclass it to the P&L.

    Hi depecora,

    Reverse the depreciation that has already been recorded and correct the fixed asset acquisition amount in a first step.

    Once that is done, check that your remaining depreciation periods are correctly set at the book / value model level and run the depreciation again.

    This should get this issue fixed.

    If you are unsure how to do this correction, try doing it in a demo/test environment first.

    Posting a negative acquisition to reduce the asset value should bring you back to the correct value.
