We currently use Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010.  I have installed the software on a new PC and when I run GP Utilities, I get the error above.

I checked the duinstall.log and it has the following:

I am not upgrading anything.  I am installing the software on a new client PC.  Perhaps I may have a different install package than what my existing clients were installed with.  I am using MDGP2010_DVD_withHotfixKB2731285_ENUS.  I have been unable to determine which install package is the correct one.

Any advice on how to resolve this error, or which install package to use, will be most appreciated.

This problem occurs when you install from the original media but have applied service packs and/or hot fixes to the server and rest of the workstations.  After installing the software on the new machine but before you run utilities, apply any service packs or hot fixes.  Then run GP to allow it to install these.  It will then require you to run Utilities and, if you applied the correct service packs, it will run correctly.

Customer Source has a list of product versions and the service pack or hot fix for that version.  Locate the version running on other workstations and be sure to install updates for that level on the new machine.

    Richard,

Thank you so very much!  I was finally able to find the links on Customer Source to previous releases and found the Hotfix that upgraded the new client to the existing version.  I successfully applied the hotfix, ran GP which prompted to run GP Utilities and then launched GP.
