deposit amount to keep - where does it go?

Hi, we are wondering where the "deposit amount to keep" goes - it doesn't show anywhere on Z reports and we accidentally "kept" an entire layaway that was cancelled.

Thanks,
Devon

    TRENT

We have a similar situation where the employee clicked Ok without changing the Deposit amount to keep to zero. If we find the journal, what is the next step to balance it out??

    Hello Devon,

    Thank you for the update.

You may have to go through the receipts in Journal Viewer to locate the layaway transactions and find the deposit.

Hi Trent, thanks for the reply.

"If you cancel a layaway and keep the deposit, it will not show up on the current batch's X/Z report if the deposit was paid on a previous batch."

This was done on accident and we have no idea where the heck it is. It did not shop on any of the Z reports. Will it be somewhere when we close our batches?

    Thanks again,

    Devon

Re: deposit amount to keep - where does it go?

    Hello Devon,

    Thank you for your questions.

Layaway deposits will show up on the X/Z reports as "Paid on Layaway."

If you cancel a layaway and pay the deposit back to the customer on the same batch, it will effectively balance each other out and not show up.

If you cancel a layaway and keep the deposit, it will not show up on the current batch's X/Z report if the deposit was paid on a previous batch.

Let us know if you have any other questions.
