Hi,
Is it possible to do automatic posting of batches in SL? Possibly something that would run off hours and just automate the posting process without user interaction. Thanks for your help.

Yes, the job has to be set up, and you can select it to process every weekday, every four hours between 8 am and 8 pm, if you would like. After it is initially set up, there should be no user interaction with it. I am not sure that it can do postings, I have never tried it....PS- I just opened the GL Post Transactions screen and was able to go to "Action" , "Submit to Application Server", so I would think that it should.
We need to complain to Microsoft so they fix these though and they work they way the are stated to work in their brochures! Currently I have to rely on a third party app to get it to process they way MBS says it should with their own program. We shouldn't have to do that!

Thanks for the info. Does Application Server also do auto posting as opposed to just releasing batches? Also, doesn't Application Server require some form of user interaction where they need to submit jobs to it?

Thanks for the response but doesn't that method still require user interaction. I think we have that configured now so in Journal Transaction when they save and close the screen the auto posting starts.
I have recently tried to use the Application Server module to automatically release batches from the AP, PO and IN modules. According to the description of the module, it should automatically release the batches when the job is submitted. It doesn't work and I have it written up as a bug. If more people complain, they may actually fix the bug so we can schedule this to run after hours and release batches!
Not sure what module is producing the batches in question, but if it's just GL, AR or AP - you can change the "Post Batches on Release" setting in GL Setup. Then the batches will post automatically when they are released.
