Why is the currency display a System Setting?

We have one company with different requirements as to how the currency symbol should be displayed on documents.

We are unable to change it without affecting all companies, so our only option would be an exception in Report Writer, which is not the preferred option.

Have you considered setting up a different currency ID and set the symbol to whichever one you need and then assign that currency to the other company? The currency translation amount would simply be 1 to 1 and never expire.

Hey that's a great suggestion!

But I see we are limited to 3 characters, so we can't have USD$.

I wish we could. It had to do with a country/border-crossing thing, so instead I simply added a conditional calculated field to the Invoice based on CompanyID and Currency, stating that the document was USD etc etc.
