Hi CRM Girl,
You cannot include Business Units in a solution and will need to manually recreate the Business Unit structure in each CRM instance.
Regards,
Sean
thanks sean, was hoping there was a way?
Yes Configuration objects like Business Units, Teams, Queues, Products and Usesr etc are not included in solutions, however there is a tool you can use called the Configuration Migration Tool that will allow you import your configuration data such as Business Units, if you download the SDK you will find it in the Tools folder
Best Wishes, Raz
heres the download link www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx
You could also go to Settings>Data Management>Templates for Data Import and download the Business Unit template.
You could then populate that and import.
Thanks Sean!
You can import the Business units by using CRM Configuration Migration.

I think you r way it the was one.
But I had find a problem that couldn't find a solution yet.
When you Create a new Organization, the Main BusinessUnit (BU) is created as well.
So when you pass the BU from one Organization to an other, you will have to change the XML file to set as parent BU the created automatically when the new Organization was created.
Do you have a way to set the exact same BU? (same GUID)?
- Same problem for the teams that are created automatically when you create a new BU
thanks
