CRM 2011 pages partially load/work under IE11, RU18, Win 7, Firefox

Background:

Previously running On Premise CRM 2011 RU 11, IE 8, SQL Server 2008 R2 SP3

With IE 11, under compatibility view within intranet sites, I was able to use the above configuration and navigate fine within our DEV CRM environment

 

I had updated from RU11 to RU18 with success… I installed RU 18 via the deferred DB update option. Each

portion of the install went fine. I have IE 11.0.9600.16428 & Firefox 24.1.1 installed on my client workstation

 

Issue:

After I imported my Organization, I tried to launch CRM via IE 11 in “compatibility mode”. My default Administration view came up, yet no top banner displayed. Bringing up system settings results in a blank window as well. I have random success with ribbons appearing but bottom line: no data is shown, pages never load, or pull downs render horribly.

I have tried various user agents strings (nothing stands out via fiddler and other log files) for both IE and Firefox. Other workstations show same issue Does anyone have any suggestions? Perhaps with IIS, browser files, or other places to confirm? Thank you, I am stuck, stumped, or missing something with this

    Well it appears that my site's setup or configuration doesn't handle the concept of cumulative updates so well.

    Going from IE8 to IE11, then from RU11 to RU18 simply did not work for me. I have yet to have IE11 work with RU18 but what I have done so far is:

    Uninstall RU18 and install RU12 first. My site came up and seems to be working. I installed RU14 and so far its still working under IE11 as well as Firefox. I'll update this question if/when I can update my DEV environment to RU18.

    I have updated my DEV environments to RU18 and I can use IE11 and Firefox… My struggles were resolved by having to re-install multiple times and/or having to mount the original server install disk for some RUs. For all install attempts, I had previously disabled, then removed the 2 organizations in play. I also broke the mirroring between 2 of the

    servers so essentially I have 3 systems to play with. After the install attempt(s), I then

    used a tried/true powershell script to import my desired Org and verify the site’s functionality.

    Server1: RU11 to RU18 failed, multiple re-install attempts failed. RU11 to RU12 worked, I upgraded to RU14, RU17, and RU18 fine

    Server2: RU11 to RU12 failed the first time, the uninstall prompted for the install disk yet second install worked. RU12 to RU17 prompted me for the install disk. RU18 went okay

    Server3: RU11 to RU12 went well, installed directly to RU18 (perhaps due to other clusternode already handling the DB side?)

    I hope this assists somebody, I had really thought the issue involved IE11 or .Net browser files...thanks for reading
