Hi,
I understand this procedure to more specifically be-
As soon as a new attribute is created (lets say Account-bit) and the default value set (False), I go back to Accounts, select "All Accounts" > edit > then I switch them all to True, save, then False, then save. At that point "False" will have populated all Accounts for that attribute. Nice trick, I wish I knew that when we created these, now that they have randomly checked for True I can no longer select "All Accounts" but have to create an appropriate filtered view.
update edit > OK this does NOT work the way it is presented here. Huge problem due to the fact that you CANNOT "UNCHECK" the bit attribute to reset it back to the default value within the bulk edit interface.
What It did was what I just described above, however, when you get to the bulk edit screen and the Account form is presented, it is entirely "unchecked" for the bit attributes. I can check an attribute so that is no longer the default, but if I choose to leave the attribute unchecked (False), even if it was checked (True) before, the "edit" does not take because nothing was "changed" from the bulk edit form and therefore I cannot change this attribute BACK.
Lucklily I did this on a new, essentially unused attribute and can delete the attribute and start over, but I can't recommend this, it can potentially cause the exact opposite of the desired results. I might now try to set the attribute default to be opposite of the desired default and see if the bulk edit can now change them back, but I doubt it.
Another thing I will try is to change the form to show both True/False radio buttons instead of the check box, that should allow a change to False.
update edit>
SOOOO, the radio buttons do allow for this to work. What we will have to do is create the attribute and start with it first on the form as a radio button. Then do the bulk edit to make it the default "False" and saving. Then go back into the form and change the form format to show the checkboxes.
Basically for the way this team is using CRM and how the bulk edit tool works, all of the checkboxes must be changed to True/False radio buttons. Makes for a very cluttered form but oh well.
Is there a way to select more than 250 records for the bulk operation? I can only seem to pick up a full page of 250 at a time.
