Does the production environment get wiped after an update?

Hey all,

In the past few months I have configured my Business Central sandbox to my likings with the AL-language. Effectively I have created new tables, pages and webservices to expose the data.
I noticed that after an update of the Business Central tenant, all my tables, pages etc. were completely wiped including all the data.
This was not a big problem as I have the .al files locally so I could easily upload them again, but I cannot have this happen on production.

I'm probably running on the latest version of Dynamics BC as I just received the update a few days ago.

My question is:
Does the production environment also get wiped after each update, or is this specific behaviour for the sandbox environments?

And if it also applies to production:
Is it possible to disable auto-updates?

Thanks in advance,
Ramon
