IDMF Job Status Error

Hello, I am configuring IDMF 2.0 in an AX 2012 R3 test environment. I created and successfully ran a few archive jobs based on templates, then I created an archive object for SalesTable using the discovery process. The template was validated and saved. However, the job failed for an unknown reason. The Trace output simply says:

Jan 23 2017  4:55PM  Source: Scheduler service   ExecutionResult: Validate the BC.Net connectivity.
Jan 23 2017  4:55PM  Source: Scheduler service   ExecutionResult: Loading archive xml and creating the dataset which contains unique index fields and fields which involved in relations
Jan 23 2017  5:20PM  Source: Scheduler service   ExecutionResult: Generating the archive queries for SALESTABLE

I tried modifying the archive object and restarting the job, but now it has an error because "the scheduled version doesn't match with the latest version of the object".

Since it is a test environment, I was just going to restore the previously-archived data, uninstall IDMF completely, and start over. But I cannot run the restore job - it goes to OnHold status immediately because the SalesTable archive job is still sitting at an "Error" status.

Is there any way to remove the errored job so I can restore my data and start over?

Thank you,

Andy

Hi Vinod, no I never found a way to fix this issue. IDMF isn't very flexible for restarting / cancelling failed jobs. I just setup a new environment since it was for testing. Good luck!

    Hi,

We have got fix from Microsoft to resolve the issue and solution is.

    For BC.Net connectivity issue,

verify whether Business connector Proxy account pointing to right Environment if no create new configuration for business connector proxy. bellow link describes how to set up new configuration for Business connector.

    [View:https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa569654.aspx:750:50]

Creating new configuration for Business connector solve the BC.Net validity issue.

To resolve any job that ends up in Error state do the following,

-> There is a table by name AXSchedules in IDMF management database, you will get list of job that you have in IDMF if you edit the table, figure out the job which ends up into error and delete the job, which will delete the job IDMF console.

    Regards,

    VInod Bhandari.

    RE: IDMF Job Status Error

For anyone who may reference this in the future. I had created a new field on the table of my archive that received the error (salesline). Once I created the new field on the salesline table of the archive database and restarted the job it completed successfully.
