How to use BOM in Intercompany processes?

We have typical Intercompany Scenario, one Sales Company and one Production Company.

The Sales Company is using the product configurator to create individual products at run time. These Company has to calculate the cost and sales prices based on the created BOM in customer sales order. so we want to use IC features to create the according IC purchase order in sales company and the IC sales order in the production Company. As we see the config ID of the created product is tranfered to the IC purchase order (in sales company) as well as to IC sales order (in productpon Company). But in production Company there is no BOM information available, only the config ID.

    Hi Anrainw,

As far as I have seen this scenario, you have to create the BOM manually or enable it by customize AX.

The items can be found for both legal entities using the global products, but there is no link between the operations to be used. AX is not aware if you are using the same coding in both the companies.

The Product configurator in Dynamics AX create the BOM (and route) in one Company only. Which Company is decided based on the InterCompany setup.

In order to trigger the InterCompany functionality in the Product configurator the following setup needs to be in place:

    - There is an InterCompany relationship between the Companies

    - The configurable product has default order type set to purchase order in the selling Company and production in the producing Company

    - The configurable product must have the InterCompany vendor set

    - The BOM must be defined in the context of the producing Company in the Product configuration model

Hi Sverre - I would like to understand this a bit more. What do you mean explicitly with "The BOM must be defined in the context of the producing Company in the Product configuration model"?

    Kind regards/Anders
