Mekorma GP 2016 ... Check Format Path

I've just upgraded a client from GP 2013 to GP 2016 and the Mekorma Check format path doesn't appear to let me want to change it.  Does anyone know where that setting exists as I would like to move the check formats to the new server.  thanks

Are you on the Tools->Setup->System->Mekorma MICR->System Setup screen and looking at the Check Format Path field?

Also, are you logged in as 'sa' or at least a Power User?

    Hi Stephen,

If you upgraded to GP 2016, you likely also upgraded your Mekorma build.. the newer builds of MICR don't use shared folder/path anymore. .the Check stubs are stored within the database using the document attachement feature of GP.

When running the designer software, it pull a temp copy out of the DB and allows you to do changes, then saves it back into the DB.

Beat & Richard ... thank you for your replies:

OK fine, but why when you are in the Mekorma MICR System Options it displays, but does not allow you to save a check format path?  Also ... looking at the tables DRM101. the report technical name remains with the old server \\servername\folder\Purchase Order.rpt ??  Then also looking at DRM104 the DRM)PDF_Filename is showing a filepath location and then Report.pdf ... etc.  Would these fields just be carry over from the previous system as like I mentioned, it doesn't allow you to change the filepath via front-end anymore (at least I can't find where it allow that to be changed).  I would prefer not to have to script change every line of these tables ... and I haven't reviewed every table in the DRM series either ... you start script changing tables and you better get all of them and you had also better get it right.

    Hi Stephen,

I'm a little confused... Never heard about those DRMxxx tables.. What are their purpose ?

If you go to : Microsoft Dynamics GP > Tools > Setup > System > Mekorma MICR > System Options

and click on the (?) help icon in the lower right corner, the Mekorma MICR contextual help opens and will explain in detail the setup of the cheques folder path for the original cheque designs.

However, when you open the MICR Check Format Library window, a pop-up will show on screen :

    ScreenCap-2016_2D00_11_2D00_20_5F00_201104.png

Then when you select any check format from the libarary and click on the 'Configure' option in the menu, the Mekorma Configurator application will be launched and you can start modify the format with the editor. Once completed, the save will automatically bring the changes back into the database..

Does that answer your question ?

PS: the location of the stored PDF copies can be found here :

    SELECT * FROM [DYNAMICS].[dbo].[ME240470]

Stephen, I'm the Lead Software Engineer at Mekorma and can confirm we don't have any DRM tables in our list of tables. Also, Beat is correct, we have eliminated the need for physical check stub files and are storing the formats at the system database level.

    Hi,

I'm having a similar issue in that I've added the check formats but for our AP person they can't print checks and it's saying we need to add the check formats still. Is there some security behind it that's new? We just upgraded to the latest version of Mekorma at year end. Thanks.

    Hi Saifyn,

Which version of GP are you on and what release of Mekorma are you using ?

    Hi Saifyn,

Do you have only one company? Can you print checks? Have you selected the default format for each checkbook?

As an FYI we had a client that was complaining of a slowness moving between companies in GP.  They had just upgraded and moved to an Azure server.    We found an invalid (Old, decommissioned, server) path address in the ME240470 table and updated it to a valid server location and it resolved the slowness issue for that client.

This was the same address that is greyed out in the UI at this location.  Tools->Setup->System->Mekorma MICR->System Setup.    I feel that though Mekorma is now keeping these items located in the database that if there is an invalid address hung up in the tables it still affects performance.
