Check Condition not working?

(0) ShareShare

Hi,

I have setup a new workflow process for an order. it is very simple. The check condition simply says 'If Order:name contains [FOC] then send email.

For some reason, it isn't following the condition and it is sending the email regardless of the content in the name field e.g I have just created a new order with the name 'This is a test' and i still get the email send despite the name not containing the words FOC.

The background to this is we sometimes give something Free of Charge items and when this happens, an order is raised with the wording FOC in the name so we can track how much FOC we are giving away. This then sends an email to the manager to be aware of the free item.

Has anyone got any idea why it would be ignoring the check condition?

We are using CRM 2015

    Hi,

That's weird. Are you sure the source of that email is the workflow you created?

would you mind posting the a screenshot of the workflow you created.

    Hi Rawish,

Yes it is odd and the email is the one linked to the workflow. I have attached a screenshot of the setup.

    Email Template

The order created - you can see the name (highlighted yellow) is "This is a test order", there is no reference to FOC in it yet the email is sent.

Email received - as per the template from the process that doesn't meet the criteria to send the email.

    Hello,

It looks like there is something else that is sending the email (Workflow, Plugins...).

In order to troubleshoot, you can:

    1. Check the sessions of the workflow if it is being executed and if it passes the condition to send the email

    2. Desactivate your workflow and check if the email is always being sent

    3. Check on your record, if there are other workflows instances that are being executed

On the other hand, rather than depending on a text part of the order name, it is better to create another field "Order Type" and set whether it is "FOC" or "Not FOC". Then, in you workflow, you can build your condition on that field.

Based On your screen shot (Previously it didn't get downloaded on my browser), you are not adding the send email step under the IF condition (It is outside the condition). That's why the email is being always sent.

Put the send email step in the IF condition and everything should be good.

Hi , just a minor mistake. you have two blocks in your workflow and they are acting independently.

    1. checking the condition and doesnt know wht to doo next

    2. this will execute no matter what.

to resolve it, after check condition click on "select this row...." and click on add step.

you will see you have linked these two. and it will work.

Hi, If condition is incomplete in your workflow. You need to write 'then statement' after 'if statement'

You need to click on 'Select this row and add new step' and configure Send Email.

Final image should look like below.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,
