Electronic Reconcile Tables

I am trying to understand how the tables work for the electonic reconcile process in GP. When I import the transactions I am assuming they all go into ME142807  and clear. I am just not sure about ME142818 the unprocessed ones. Do all transactions go there that don't match and possibly clear in the next reconcilation? I noticed in that table they have columns for reconciled ID and sequence number.

Any help is appreciated.
