Hi all,

I wonder the platforms that Microsoft Dynamics GP has (desktop, in-house network or the "cloud"). After surfing the internet, I know that this software could be installed in the computer. But I still confused what platforms do the software has.

Thanks for taking your precise time to read these words!

    Hi Danying,

Like Richard said, it depends on a lot of questions.. currently, there is a lot of confusion around Dynamics GP on-premise and Dynamics 365 in the cloud..

Dynamics GP 2016 can be run on-premise inhouse on your own HW, or you could run it in 'hosted' mode at an ISV that would operate it 'on-premise' in his server farm, shared amongst many other customers.. you would access it thru a remote client terminal server style..

Dynamics 365 is based on Microsoft's Azure stack and is  a true on-line application.. you won't get a full-client user GUI like Dynamics 2016, but really a web-based interface.

Dynamics 365 is a subscription based model, whereas Dynamics GP 2016 on-premise in your site, would be a purchased license with annual maintenance fees. Host Dynamics GP would most likely be a monthly subscription too.

Here are the requirements for GP 2016.

It would not matter whether this was on premise or the cloud. If you intend to use Management Reporter you will need to have a domain.
