The security object does not exist, Web Services (GP2013)

Testing a migration from GP2010 to GP2013 from one server to another. GP2013 is up and working and now I'm attempting to get Business Portal stood up. Before BP can be installed, Web Services need to be installed. During the install I chose the option SQL Server (for Dynamics Security Data Store). After the install, I try to run Web Services Config tool but experience the following error (bottom of this post). That error lead me to this forum post: https://community.dynamics.com/gp/f/32/p/54621/98855.aspx#.Ue_rmm12mgA     From that post I assume that my error is related to the current live system using ADAM for web services? The tech in that post mentions "Clear the Web Services data from the databases and do a fresh install (brand new installation of Web Services (not an upgrade)." - How would I go about doing that? With this test system (completed separately from the live environment), what are my options at this point to get Web Services Config to let me pass?

A loader exception has occurred.

Thanks for using the forums. You can use the scripts in the following KB to manually remove the information:

So there is absolutely no way to leave the existing live system intact while trying to install Web Services in my test environment?

You sure can leave the live system alone. Once you move the databases over to the new server you just need to run the scripts in that KB to remove the records for WS from the tables. You then can do a new install on the new server.

Great good to hear Jonathan! I'll give it a shot as soon as I can so hopefully hear in the next few days.

    Thanks for your help!

    Johnathan,

Hopefully you're still receiving updates to this post because I have a few more questions. I checked out that link you posted and it seems to be for GP 10. I searched around on customer source and found the one for GP 2010. After digging into the article though, I'm not sure that is what I need. The article seems to go pretty in depth with uninstalling it completely from the live system which you above seem to say it would leave intact.

Yes it states GP 10 but it works for GP 2010 as well. I think you may be confused still with this whole process. At this point I would recommend opening a support case as this is getting a little too complex for the forums.

My mistake, I guess I should have more thoroughly examined the document. I ran the scripts and got past the error. Thanks!

    Hello,

were you able to solve it?

I have the same problem in this moment.

    Can you help me

Google for MDGP2010_HOWTO_UninstallWebServices.doc / How to manually uninstall Web Services for Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010

About halfway through those documents are two sql scripts. On my server where gp 2013 was going to run, I ran those two scripts against the dynamics and company databases. Because I wasn't doing the upgrade on my gp2010 server (I copied the gp 2010's dbs to another server, then did the upgrade there) I didn't have to do anything else listed in that document other than run the sql commands.
